Mbappé Scores in 6 Minutes as Madrid Beat Schalke

Kylian Mbappé needed just six minutes to make his return to Real Madrid action count as José Mourinho's side ended pre-season with a 3-0 victory over Schalke 04.

Mbappé opened the scoring at the Veltins-Arena after taking advantage of a mistake in the Schalke defence. The Frenchman showed his sharpness immediately after returning to the starting XI.

Real Madrid doubled their advantage in the 20th minute when Dean Huijsen headed home from an Arda Güler corner.

Carlos Espí then came off the bench and added a third goal in the 57th minute to complete a comfortable victory for Mourinho's team.

The match also provided opportunities for some of Madrid's new faces. Marc Cucurella and Yan Diomande made their debuts, while goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois returned to action.

For Mbappé, the performance was another encouraging sign ahead of the competitive season. He was heavily involved during his 45 minutes on the pitch, creating chances as well as scoring.

Real Madrid have now completed their pre-season preparations and will turn their attention to their first competitive fixture.

Mourinho's side will begin their La Liga campaign against Espanyol on August 22.

After a summer of major changes at the Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid have one clear objective: start winning trophies again.
