Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034, strengthening his commitment to the club.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the England international has agreed to a one-year extension on improved terms. His previous contract was due to run until 2033, meaning the new deal adds another year to his existing agreement.

The agreement represents another step in Chelsea’s efforts to secure the futures of their key players as they continue building their squad for the coming years.

Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023, quickly established himself as an important figure in the team. His impact during his first season earned him the club’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards. He also scored 25 goals in all competitions during the 2023/24 campaign.

Chelsea have continued to work on new deals for important members of their squad. Ornstein’s report notes that Palmer’s extension follows recent contract agreements involving Reece James, Moisés Caicedo, João Pedro and Pedro Neto.

The new agreement reflects Chelsea’s desire to retain Palmer, who remains a key part of their long-term plans. Extending his stay until 2034 also gives the club greater security over the future of one of their leading attacking players.

For Palmer, the improved terms reward his importance to Chelsea while keeping him at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future.

The contract extension is another sign of Chelsea’s focus on retaining their core players as they aim to build a team capable of competing for major honours.
