Transfermarkt has released its latest Premier League market-value update, and Florian Wirtz has suffered by far the biggest drop, while several other stars have seen their values rise sharply.

Liverpool midfielder Wirtz has seen his market value fall by £47 million, dropping from around £119m to £72m.

The German joined Liverpool for a reported £116m last summer after an outstanding spell at Bayer Leverkusen. However, his first season in England was difficult, and he has continued to struggle for consistency this season.

Wirtz has made five Premier League appearances so far without scoring, registering just one assist. His strong performances for Germany during the international break have offered some encouragement, but they were not enough to prevent the major valuation drop.

At the other end, Chelsea forward João Pedro is one of the biggest winners. His value has increased by £17m to £85m after an impressive start to the campaign, including three goals and three assists in his first four league appearances.

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has also jumped £17m to £59m after establishing himself as one of the Premier League's standout midfielders and making his senior England debut.

Manchester City have two major risers. Enzo Fernández is now valued at £102m after rising £17m, while Rayan Cherki has climbed to £93m, also an increase of £17m.

There were also notable falls elsewhere.

Viktor Gyökeres has dropped to around £47–48m, while Richarlison has fallen to £13m. Alejandro Garnacho's value has also dropped to £19m, less than half of his peak valuation.

The update shows just how quickly a player's perceived value can change after only a handful of Premier League matches.

Wirtz's £47m collapse is easily the biggest talking point — but is Transfermarkt being too harsh on the Liverpool star?
