Man United Complete Signing of Liverpool Wonderkid

Manchester United have completed the signing of 16-year-old winger Isaac Konde from Liverpool, with an official announcement now expected.

Fabrizio Romano reports that all formal steps for the move have been completed, while The Athletic's Andy Mitten reports that Konde signed the necessary United paperwork at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Konde had been expected to make the switch for several weeks after United identified him as one of the promising young talents they wanted to bring into their academy.

The teenager joined Liverpool's academy at a young age and featured six times for their Under-18 side during the 2025/26 season.

He is primarily a winger and can operate on either flank, while also possessing the ability to play through the middle. His pace and close control have been highlighted among his key attributes.

Konde is expected to initially join Darren Fletcher's Under-18 squad at United.

Because he is only 16, he will first sign a one-year scholarship agreement. He will then be able to sign a five-year professional contract when he turns 17.

Manchester United and Liverpool are now discussing the compensation package for the academy move. Reports indicate that Liverpool expect the eventual figure could reach seven figures, with a tribunal possible if the clubs cannot reach an agreement.

Konde's move represents another academy raid by United, who have also recently recruited young talents from Manchester City as part of their wider push to strengthen the club's youth system.
