Leon Goretzka Says Yes to Aston Villa as Free Transfer Nears Completion
Leon Goretzka has reportedly said yes to Aston Villa, with the German midfielder finalising a free transfer after turning down offers from Saudi Arabia, MLS and Turkey.

Leon Goretzka is reportedly on the verge of joining Aston Villa after giving the green light to a move to the Premier League side.
The 31-year-old midfielder is said to be finalising an agreement with Villa over a free transfer, with Unai Emery keen to bring his experience and leadership to the squad.
Goretzka would arrive at Villa Park following his time with Bayern Munich, where he established himself as one of the most experienced midfielders in European football. His physical presence, versatility and Champions League experience could make him an important addition to Emery’s plans.
The German midfielder reportedly turned down approaches from Saudi Arabia, MLS and two clubs in the Turkish Süper Lig as he prioritised a move that would keep him competing at the highest level in Europe.
Aston Villa’s return to Champions League football is understood to have been a major factor in Goretzka’s decision. Emery is believed to value the midfielder’s experience, particularly as Villa prepare for another demanding domestic and European campaign.
For Villa, securing a player of Goretzka’s pedigree without a transfer fee would represent a significant piece of business.
With negotiations now reportedly at the final stage, Goretzka could soon be unveiled as Aston Villa’s latest major addition.
