Galatasaray Sign Lesley Ugochukwu From Burnley

The French midfielder will join the Turkish champions on loan, with an option to buy. The total package is reported to be under €30 million, and Ugochukwu is expected to sign his contract soon.

The move gives the 21-year-old a fresh challenge in an entirely different country and league.

Ugochukwu joined Chelsea from French club Rennes in 2023. He arrived as one of France's most highly rated young midfielders, but breaking into Chelsea's midfield has been difficult because of strong competition for places. He was sold permanently to Burnley last summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray believe the midfielder can become an important player for the club this season, and would be useful in the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League campaign

For Burnley, the deal also makes sense.
