Alexis Sánchez is set to join CF Montréal on a two-year deal after leaving Sevilla

Alexis Sánchez is set to continue his career in Major League Soccer after agreeing to join CF Montréal as a free agent.

According to The Athletic's Tom Bogert, CF Montréal have reached an agreement to sign the Chilean forward. Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Sánchez will join the Canadian club on a two-year contract.

The 37-year-old will arrive after leaving Sevilla at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Sánchez spent one season with Sevilla, making 28 La Liga appearances and scoring four goals, according to Sportsnet.

His move to Montréal will bring an end to almost two decades of European football.

The Chilean has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter Milan. He also won league titles in Spain and Italy and lifted two FA Cups with Arsenal.

Internationally, Sánchez is Chile's all-time leading goalscorer and has won two Copa América titles with his country. He has made 128 appearances for Chile and scored 51 goals.

For Montréal, the signing represents a major addition to their squad and a huge name for the club.

The Canadian side has also teased Sánchez's arrival. In a video posted by CF Montréal, managing director Luca Saputo referred to a new No. 10, strongly pointing towards the Chilean forward.

Sánchez now appears ready for a completely different chapter of his career.
