Victor Osimhen Explains Why He Rejected Galatasaray No 9 Shirt
Victor Osimhen has revealed why he turned down Galatasaray's famous No. 9 jersey, choosing to keep the No. 45 shirt that brought him success.

Victor Osimhen has revealed why he turned down the chance to wear Galatasaray's iconic number nine shirt despite becoming one of the club's biggest stars.
The Super Eagles striker, who completed a permanent move to the Turkish champions after an impressive loan spell, decided to keep his familiar number 45 jersey instead of switching to the famous striker's number.
Many supporters expected Osimhen to inherit the No. 9 shirt following Mauro Icardi's departure. Instead, the Nigerian forward chose to continue with the number he has worn since arriving in Istanbul.

Speaking about the decision, Osimhen said the choice was based on more than football.
"I believe you will sell more shirts, but I think you will understand my perspective. The number 45 has been lucky for me at Galatasaray. I want to continue with the same number," Osimhen said, according to Turkish outlet Sabah Spor.
The decision reflects the striker's belief in keeping the number that has accompanied him during one of the best periods of his career.
Since joining Galatasaray, Osimhen has become one of the club's most influential players. His goals helped the Yellow-Reds enjoy another successful campaign, while his passion and work rate quickly made him a favourite among the supporters.
The 27-year-old has already begun preparing for the new season, scoring his first pre-season goal in Galatasaray's 3-3 draw against Rennes.
Although the No. 9 shirt carries great history and commercial value, Osimhen's decision shows he values familiarity and confidence over tradition.
Galatasaray fans are unlikely to complain.
As long as the goals continue to arrive, the number on the back of his shirt matters far less than the performances he delivers on the pitch.
Osimhen will now look to lead Galatasaray's title defence while helping the Turkish champions compete strongly in Europe once again.
