Raphinha Takes Brazil's Legendary No. 10 Shirt

Raphinha has officially taken over Brazil's iconic No. 10 shirt from Neymar.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) released the squad numbers for the national team's upcoming friendlies against Australia and India, with the Barcelona winger handed the legendary number.

Raphinha wore No. 11 during Brazil's 2026 World Cup campaign, while Neymar retained the No. 10 shirt during his fourth World Cup appearance.

Now, following the end of the World Cup and the beginning of a new cycle under Carlo Ancelotti, the number has passed to Raphinha.

The 29-year-old has been one of Brazil's most important attacking players and is currently enjoying an impressive start to the season with Barcelona. ESPN Brazil highlighted his exceptional club form ahead of the international break.

Raphinha is not the only player to receive a new number.

Endrick has inherited the No. 9 shirt, while Estêvão has moved to No. 11. Vinícius Júnior remains No. 7 and Bruno Guimarães keeps No. 8.

The No. 10 carries enormous historical weight for Brazil, having been worn by legends including Pelé and Neymar.

Neymar became only the second Brazilian player after Pelé to wear the No. 10 at four World Cups, underlining the significance of the shirt Raphinha has now inherited.

Raphinha will get his first opportunity to wear the number when Brazil face Australia on Friday.
