Real Madrid Make Huge Endrick Decision

Real Madrid have decided that Endrick will stay at the club for the 2026/27 season instead of leaving on another loan.

According to the latest reports, the decision was made by the club, Endrick and head coach José Mourinho after discussions over the Brazilian striker's future. Several clubs had shown interest in signing him on loan, but Madrid now want him to remain and fight for his place.

The decision comes after Endrick returned from a loan spell at Lyon.

The Brazilian spent the second half of the 2025/26 season in France after Real Madrid agreed a temporary move with Lyon until June 30, 2026.

Endrick impressed during his time in Ligue 1, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions, according to reports surrounding his return to Madrid.

Now, Mourinho wants to see what the 20-year-old can offer in Madrid.

The club has also handed Endrick the famous No. 9 shirt for the new season. Madrid's updated squad list has him wearing No. 9, with Vinícius Jr. keeping No. 7, Kylian Mbappé wearing No. 10 and Rodrygo wearing No. 11.

The shirt number carries added significance at Madrid, where the No. 9 has previously been worn by legendary forwards including Karim Benzema, Ronaldo Nazário and Cristiano Ronaldo during different periods of the club's history.

Endrick now has an opportunity to establish himself in Mourinho's squad rather than spending another season away from the Bernabéu.

Competition for attacking places will be intense, particularly after Madrid's arrival of Yan Diomande, but the decision to keep Endrick suggests the club still sees an important role for him.
