Raphinha’s Stunning Start Continues at Barcelona

Raphinha continued his incredible start to the season as Barcelona thrashed Racing Santander 7–2 at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

The Brazilian forward scored a hat-trick, including two penalties, as Hansi Flick’s side maintained their perfect start to the LaLiga campaign.

Raphinha opened his account from the penalty spot in the 25th minute before scoring again shortly before half-time to give Barcelona a 4–1 lead.

Barcelona were then awarded another penalty late in the first half, but Raphinha handed the ball to Lamine Yamal and allowed the teenager to take it. Yamal’s effort was saved by Racing goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala.

Raphinha eventually got another opportunity from the spot after the break and made no mistake, completing his hat-trick in the 67th minute.

Gabriel Jesus and Yamal also scored after half-time as Barcelona completed a convincing victory.

The hat-trick took Raphinha’s direct goal contributions to 14 in seven appearances this season, with 11 goals and three assists across all competitions.

His remarkable run began with a two-goal, one-assist performance against Elche before he continued to contribute against Athletic Club, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Feyenoord and Levante.

Raphinha has now scored or assisted in every game he has played this season, underlining his importance to Flick’s attack.

His latest performance also came with Barcelona playing him centrally, where the Brazilian has quickly become one of the most dangerous attacking players in Europe.

With 33 goals scored across their opening seven competitive matches, Barcelona are enjoying a remarkable attacking start to the campaign.
