José Mourinho has wasted little time changing the culture at Real Madrid, with the Portuguese manager introducing stricter rules at Valdebebas.

According to AS, Mourinho has tightened control over several areas of the players' daily routine, including nutrition, punctuality, injury recovery and team activities.

One of the biggest changes concerns food.

Real Madrid's nutritionist now has greater control over what players eat, with structured menus prepared for breakfast and afternoon snacks. Players previously had more freedom over their food choices, but that has now been reduced.

Mourinho has also introduced a strict punctuality rule.

Players are required to arrive at Valdebebas one hour before training. Anyone who arrives late is punished by being sent to work alone in the gym, away from the rest of the squad. AS reports that there are no exceptions based on a player's status or position in the dressing room.

Injured players are also expected to complete their recovery work at Valdebebas. Even when they work with personal trainers, their rehabilitation is now coordinated with the club's staff rather than being handled independently outside the training ground.

Mourinho has also placed greater emphasis on team unity. The entire squad and coaching staff have been eating together at the training ground, something AS says was not previously a regular routine.

The changes come as Mourinho attempts to rebuild Real Madrid after a difficult period for the club.

The Portuguese coach reportedly wanted significant authority over first-team affairs when negotiating his return, including a major say in footballing decisions.

He now has the chance to impose his methods on a squad containing some of the biggest names in world football.

Kylian Mbappé, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konaté and Aurélien Tchouaméni have all returned to training following their World Cup campaigns, while Mourinho is also working with major new additions such as Yan Diomande.

The message from Valdebebas appears clear: Mourinho wants standards to apply to everyone.

Whether that discipline helps Real Madrid return to the top remains to be seen.

Can Mourinho's strict approach make Real Madrid stronger this season?
