Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United’s Carrington training ground after completing his season-long loan spell at Barcelona.

The England forward was spotted back at United’s training base on Sunday as he begins the next stage of his career after spending the 2025/26 season in Spain.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United in July 2025, with the deal including an option for the Spanish club to make the move permanent.

However, Barcelona decided against making the transfer permanent, meaning Rashford has returned to his parent club.

His return has created an interesting situation at Old Trafford. Manchester United are reportedly open to keeping the 28-year-old forward, with new manager Michael Carrick involved in discussions about his future.

Rashford's return also comes after a difficult period at United, where his relationship with the club deteriorated before his departure. He now has another opportunity to rebuild his position at the club.

Reports suggest United have even assigned Rashford the No.14 shirt, which would be another indication that the club are willing to give him a fresh start.

The big question is whether Rashford can convince Carrick that he deserves a place in the Manchester United squad or whether another club will make a late move for him.

Could Rashford really revive his Manchester United career?
