Manchester United Turn To Joaquin Seys As £30m Alternative Emerges

The 21-year-old Belgian has emerged as a potential alternative to Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall, who remains difficult to prise away from St James’ Park.

United have reportedly made an enquiry about Seys, with recent reports suggesting the Red Devils are considering a move worth around £30 million. The Belgian defender has attracted attention from several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle and Aston Villa, highlighting his growing reputation.

Seys has established himself as one of Club Brugge’s most promising young players. Comfortable at left-back and capable of contributing on both sides of the ball, the Belgium international is viewed as a player with significant room for development.

His performances have also strengthened his profile on the international stage. His ability to handle high-level opposition has made him an increasingly attractive option for clubs searching for a modern, energetic full-back.

For Manchester United, the interest comes as they assess their options at left-back. Luke Shaw’s injury problems have created uncertainty in the position, while Patrick Dorgu has also been used further forward. Seys could therefore provide another long-term option for Michael Carrick’s squad.

However, a deal is far from guaranteed. Club Brugge are reluctant to lose Seys and manager Ivan Leko has expressed his pride at seeing the youngster linked with elite clubs. Leko also suggested that a substantial offer could make the Belgian side reconsider their position.

United must now decide whether to turn their reported interest into a formal bid, with Seys potentially becoming one of the most intriguing late-window targets at Old Trafford.
