Manchester United's wait for another five-match winning streak continues.

The Red Devils last won five consecutive matches in all competitions between 28 January and 18 February 2024, during Erik ten Hag's second season in charge.

United began that run with a 4–2 FA Cup victory away to Newport County.

They then defeated Wolves 4–3 in the Premier League before recording further league victories against West Ham United, Aston Villa and Luton Town.

Rasmus Højlund was particularly influential during the run, scoring in each of United's final three victories. The streak eventually ended when Fulham won 2–1 at Old Trafford on 24 February 2024.

United have since struggled to reproduce that level of consistency.

The club came close again in early 2026 when Michael Carrick won his first four Premier League matches in charge, defeating Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham. The opportunity to make it five disappeared when United drew with West Ham.

The distinction between competitions is important. United's last five consecutive victories in a single Premier League season came much earlier, between November 2022 and January 2023. Their five-match run ended with a 2–1 Manchester derby victory over City.

United are now facing another difficult period. They have taken just one win from their opening four Premier League matches of the current campaign and lost 1–0 to Manchester City in the derby.
