Infantino Opens Latvia FA Headquarters as Latvia Backs FIFA President
Gianni Infantino helped open the Latvian Football Federation’s new headquarters as Latvia backed FIFA’s football development work and revealed plans for a U-20 World Cup bid with Ukraine.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino helped open the new headquarters of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF), as Latvia reaffirmed its support for the FIFA president and outlined ambitions for further football development.
Latvia is also interested in joining Ukraine in a bid to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup, while plans are being developed for a new national football stadium.
LFF President Vadims Łashenko praised FIFA’s contribution to the development of football in Latvia, expressing gratitude for the organisation’s work over recent years.

“We are really grateful for FIFA's work in the last couple of years for Latvian football development. I am happy that FIFA is always ready to discuss potential innovations.”
Łashenko also offered strong backing for Infantino, saying Latvia would continue to support his efforts to develop the sport globally.
“Mr Gianni Infantino makes a lot of things happen to help football’s development and of course, Latvia is always on board and he can count on our support.”
The visit comes as Latvia seeks to strengthen its football infrastructure and increase its involvement in major international competitions, with the proposed U-20 World Cup bid alongside Ukraine forming part of those ambitions.
