Courtois Welcomes Mourinho Reunion at Real Madrid
Thibaut Courtois has welcomed his reunion with José Mourinho at Real Madrid after the pair previously worked together at Chelsea.

Thibaut Courtois has welcomed the return of José Mourinho as Real Madrid manager, recalling the good memories they shared at Chelsea.
Mourinho was officially appointed Real Madrid's head coach in June 2026, returning to the club for a second spell and signing a contract until 2029.
Courtois previously worked under Mourinho at Chelsea and was part of the squad that won the Premier League title during the 2014/15 season.

The Belgian goalkeeper is now set to work with Mourinho again in Madrid, several years after their time together in London.
“I’m happy to be under his guidance again. We hope to work well together and have great years here,” Courtois said, according to the quote circulating from his latest comments.
The reunion gives Mourinho an experienced goalkeeper who has been one of Real Madrid's most important players since joining the club in 2018.
Courtois has already won two Champions League titles, three La Liga trophies and several other major honours with Madrid. The club's official website credits him with 14 trophies during his eight seasons at the club.

The goalkeeper also enters the new season as one of the senior figures in Mourinho's squad.
For Mourinho, having a goalkeeper he already knows could be useful as he begins his second spell at the Santiago Bernabéu.
For Courtois, it is another chapter in a relationship that began at Chelsea and has now brought the pair together again in Madrid.
Can Mourinho and Courtois help Real Madrid return to the top of European football?
