Christopher Nkunku is starting to look like the player RB Leipzig fans remember — and the famous balloon celebration is back.

The 28-year-old forward has made an impressive return to Leipzig, quickly rediscovering the form and creativity that made him one of Europe’s most exciting attackers during his first spell at the club.

Nkunku has already made his mark since rejoining the Bundesliga side, contributing in each of his recent appearances. He provided an assist against Borussia Mönchengladbach, was unable to register a goal or assist against Werder Bremen, then created another goal against Como before finally getting on the scoresheet against Hamburger SV.

His recent run reads:

🅰️ vs Borussia Mönchengladbach

❌ vs Werder Bremen

🅰️ vs Como

⚽️ vs Hamburger SV

That goal against Hamburger SV was particularly symbolic. Nkunku celebrated with his trademark balloon gesture — a celebration that became synonymous with his spectacular Leipzig years.

After a difficult period away from the club, Nkunku appears to have found a familiar environment where he can once again play with freedom, confidence and creativity.

The numbers are beginning to follow the performances, and if this is only the beginning, Leipzig supporters may be witnessing the return of the Nkunku they fell in love with.

The magician is back. And so is the balloon.
