Ronaldo Lands In Madrid After Leaving Portugal Camp
The veteran forward departed after being left out of the starting XI, with his unexpected exit creating a major talking point ahead of Portugal’s upcoming international fixtures.

Cristiano Ronaldo has arrived in Madrid after abruptly leaving Portugal’s training camp in Copenhagen, just days before the national team’s crucial Nations League fixtures.
The 41-year-old captain departed the Portugal camp on Wednesday following a press conference by head coach Jorge Jesus, who confirmed that Ronaldo would not start against Denmark.
Ronaldo subsequently held a conversation with Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença before deciding to leave the squad.
Ronaldo travelled to Madrid by private jet after leaving Parken Stadium without taking part in Portugal’s scheduled training session. Reports from Portugal confirmed that he had reached Copenhagen airport before beginning his journey to Spain, where he currently owns a residence.
His departure has intensified questions surrounding his relationship with Jesus and his immediate future with the national team. Ronaldo was an unused substitute during Portugal’s 2–1 victory over Norway and had previously been substituted at half-time against Wales.
Jesus insisted there was no major rift, while acknowledging that Ronaldo was unhappy after remaining on the bench against Norway.
Ronaldo later confirmed his decision publicly, saying he would explain the reasons behind his departure “in due course” and wishing Portugal and his teammates success.
The Portuguese federation confirmed his exit but said the remaining squad would continue preparations for the upcoming matches. Ronaldo remains Portugal’s record goalscorer and most-capped player, with 146 goals in 234 appearances.
