Haaland Trolls Man United Fan Over Haircut Challenge

Erling Haaland has joined the banter surrounding Manchester United fan Frank Ilett, better known online as The United Strand, after Manchester City completed a perfect start to the Premier League season.

Ilett has become famous for refusing to cut his hair until Manchester United win five consecutive Premier League matches. He began the challenge in October 2024, and it is still going.

City, meanwhile, won their first five league matches of the 2026/27 season, beating Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Coventry City, Manchester United and Sunderland.

The comparison went viral after Haaland's new haircut was posted around the same time.

However, the Norwegian's haircut actually came earlier in the season, rather than immediately after City's fifth league victory. That did not stop fans from connecting the two situations.

Ilett himself dismissed the theory, pointing out that Haaland would have cut his hair after City's fifth win if it was genuinely connected to the challenge.

Haaland then responded directly to the United fan with four simple words:

“Cut your hair man.”

The exchange added another layer to a rivalry that has already produced plenty of banter this season.

Manchester City defeated United 1-0 in the Manchester derby on September 13, with Haaland scoring the decisive goal. They then beat Sunderland 5-3 on September 20 to complete their fifth consecutive league victory and maintain their perfect record.

For Ilett, however, the barber remains on standby.

United's five-match winning streak remains unfinished, meaning The United Strand's hair-growing challenge continues.
